Mitchell Farm

click here to watch the auction

Mitchell Farm in Southbury Connecticut, along the Housatonic River, under gorgeous skies. On days such as this, one can hear the droning buzz of remote control planes, being flown above in the upper fields. Corn grows on the flatlands along the river. The Shepaug hydroelectric dam, just upstream, quietly does it job, meting out water, so that there's always a dependable flow.  - Nancy Boudreau

This is an acrylic painting, approximately 5" x 7" on gessoed matboard.

Looking Up The Housatonic

click here to watch the auction

Standing in the same spot as the last painting, on the shore of the Housatonic River in Southbury Connecticut, just below the Shepaug Dam, this time looking north, upriver. Cold, clear water, running over a rocky bed, well aerated, a haven for fish. I love the fluid play of light and color in the river.  - Nancy Boudreau

This painting is slightly larger than 5" x 7" and is done in acrylics on a gessoed mat board. The back of the painting is signed, dated and the words above are handwritten in pen.
